Inductatron Electrostatic Headphone Energizer

This is a energizer for 5 (Pro Bias) and 6 pin (Normal Bias) electrostatic headphones, such as Stax, Kaldas Audio, Nectar Sound, and others. 

This device requires banana plugs to be connected to an amplifier. 

It is low distortion (0.02% THD+N measured at max volume at 1khz, unweighted), and has a frequency response that is very similar to a KGSSHV Carbon, although slightly warmer.

It can be powered with as few as three watts of power, a Schiit Magni can power it to listeneble levels with a Stax SR-X1 turned up only halfway on high gain. 

It features a full gamut of safety features including bias resistors, 5kohm output resistors, 2 ohms of resistance on each input, input fuses, two power fuses, output voltage latches to prevent driving your headphones too hard, and a bias power supply input transformer to make the box galvanic ally isolated. Other types of transformers are available for extra cost. The Hammond 1608A measures better and is easier to drive than any Lundahl I have measured and sounds better too. It is the only transformer that I have found that doesn't crush the soundstage, or make imaging "fuzzy". Sounds very sharp and has good impulse. Can be driven effectively by anything that can drive the stock transformers.

The Hammond 1760W is mostly the same but it has a much larger core. I do not recommend buying this unless you both have a very powerful amp (100watts per channel or more) and desire enough volume to visibly vibrate. It is also good for anyone who wants to EQ in lots of bass. If you do make it clip, because it is a E core instead of a C core like a lundahl or any other transformer that uses a  torroid adjacent core, it will clip "softly" and be far less noticeable.

I no longer offer Lundahls due to them measuring worse than the Hammonds, and being far more costly. That said, If you have a energizer already that has Lundahls inside it, I would not upgrade. The performance boost is minimal as Lundahl transformers do measure extremely well, they are only a hair short of the Hammonds.
